Abstract

This article analyzes several aspects of women's roles in the Quran within the context of the contemporary scholarly agenda: gender, Islam, rights, responsibilities, and leadership. The article aims to identify key Quranic provisions that define the status of women in Islam and to analyze interpretations in domestic and international studies. The sources used are ayahs and suras of the Quran. The focus is on issues of education, family, inheritance, and social activity. This paper evaluates the development of academic agendas within the scholarship of contemporary researchers. Particular attention is paid to the right to education, female agency, religious and public leadership. Furthermore, the article highlights the synthesis of Quranic doctrines and traditional Kazakh customs. The article's results and proposals demonstrate that the research landscape is heterogeneous, with different issues being the focus in different historical periods. The research agenda is constantly evolving in response to the demands of society and the times. However, it should be noted that current research encompasses issues of gender justice, women's empowerment, rethinking interpretations, and the need for a comprehensive analysis.
